COLONIAL NURSING HOME IS SEEKING

VOLUNTEERS

You may ask why?

We want to enhance the daily care given to our elderly residents.

In nursing homes, the word enhance applies to the little things that give more joy and meaning to a person's daily life. Such "little things" include:

• Reading and writing letters
  

• Assisting with Bingo and other games
  

• Helping at meal times
  

• Cutting food
  

• Pouring drinks
  

• Assisting in cleaning up
  

• Filling water in glasses and pitchers
  

• Having one-on-one conversations
  

• Picnicking
  

• Fishing
  

• Short Walks
  

• Greeting visitors
  

The number of nurses and nurse aides, at colonial Nursing Home is on the up side, but we try to give more than medical and therapeutic care.

We seek more of the warm-fuzzy kind of care, and there can never be enough warm-fuzzies.

If you would like to share in this endeavor we would like to talk to you.

Come see us.  See and hear about it personally.  We seek volunteers who care about this kind of need, and who have a compassion for the elderly and handicapped.

We are glad to see young people, as well as older people, in this role.

Jut an hour or two at a time can work wonders.

Our trained staff can show the way, show you how, and share in all that you can do.
